Nutcracker: A Christmas tradition

Newton County Arts Association intern and senior company dancer Rachel Mathieu took on the striking role as the Ballerina Doll in last year’s “Nutcracker” performance. For this year’s Covington Regional Ballet (CRB) performance of Tchaikovsky’s holiday classic, Mathieu will be cast as the Dew Drop Fairy. The ballet will begin at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 at the Porter Hall on Newton County High School campus.
