CONYERS — Hundreds of Jeeps will line up and head out Saturday, Dec. 14, in the annual Toys for Tots Jeep Drive.
Rusty Huggins, parts manager for the Courtesy Automotive Group in Conyers, is organizing the Stockers to Lockers event that will bring groups of Jeep enthusiasts together for a drive that starts at Beef O’Brady’s in Jefferson and makes its way to Courtesy Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram on Dogwood Drive.
Huggins said the event kicks off at 8 a.m. in Jefferson, with Santa Claus aboard the lead vehicle. Drivers will likely pull out at around 9 a.m. for the trek that will take two and a half to three hours. Huggins said the Georgia State Patrol will provide an escort for the drivers, assisted by law enforcement from the city of Atlanta, Athens-Clarke County, Rockdale County, Conyers and Monroe.
Huggins also said two helicopters will fly over the Jeeps as drivers make their way to Conyers, filming the event for YouTube.
Once in Conyers, Huggins said drivers and their passengers will be treated to a catered lunch, games and a bounce house for the kids.
The fee for participating in the Jeep drive is a new unwrapped toy that will be contributed to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive. The driver of each Jeep will also received a T-shirt. Registration forms are available online at the Stockers To Lockers Facebook page or by contacting Huggins at email@example.com.
