CONYERS -- Last week, the Heritage girls soccer team lost consecutive 1-0 road games to Union Grove and Parkview. But back inside the friendly confines of Evans Memorial Stadium and playing a region opponent Tuesday, the Patriots got back to their winning ways.
Faith Shelton scored a hat trick and Tori Shelton had a goal and assist as Heritage defeated Cedar Shoals 8-0.
Heritage, which had lost consecutive games for the first time since April 2011, stayed unbeaten at 6-0 in Region 8-AAAAA and improved to 11-3-2.
Shelton scored two of her goals in the opening half as Heritage went into halftime up 6-0.
Shelton secured the hat trick early in the second half off a pass from Maria Harding -- the second Harding-to-Shelton hook up of the night -- to give the Patriots a 7-0 cushion.
In the nightcap, the Heritage boys extended their unbeaten streak to 12 games with a 5-2 victory.
Heritage, which is 9-0-3 since suffering a 2-1 setback to Clarke Central on March 1, improved to 12-1-3 and 5-1 in league play.
