If you're looking for a distinctive kitten, this tiny little lady is just the ticket. Just seven weeks old, she has been named Callie and is a black tortoise-shell calico kitty. She was found in the Boar Tusk Road area and would make a great addition to any family. She can be rescued and adopted at Rockdale County Animal Care and Control Shelter at 1506 Rockbridge Road in Conyers. At the Rockdale shelter adoption fees for dogs are $30 and $20 for cats. Spaying or neutering is required for adoption. The shelter is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-278-8403.

There's seven chances for happiness as Wilma is only a representative of the seven-pup litter available this week. They appear to be sweet-tempered Beagle-mixes and there are two females and five males in the bunch. They are just seven weeks old and have had their first shots and been wormed and are anxious to work their way into someone's heart. Wilma, or one or more of her siblings, can be rescued and adopted at Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514.
