CONYERS -- In what seemed to be a forgone conclusion for weeks was made official Tuesday. Kierra Camp threw a two-hit shutout and the Heritage softball team defeated Winder-Barrow 2-0 to clinch a spot in the state playoffs.
The Patriots, who won their 15th consecutive game and improved to 20-1 and 7-0 in Region 8-AAAAA, are assured of either the No. 1 or No. 2 seed when the league tournament begins September 24.
Heritage travels to 4-1 Loganville tonight at 6:30 p.m. with the region's regular season title on the line.
