COVINGTON -- Snapping Shoals EMC is getting ready for its annual community benefit for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. The Ninth Annual Ride for the Cure will take place Saturday, Sept. 29, and this year it will include a car show.
Registration for the motorcycle ride will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 10 a.m. at the SSEMC headquarters located at 14750 Brown Bridge Road in Covington.
The registration fee is $25 per rider, which includes a T-shirt. The cost for passengers is $10. Extra T-shirts may be purchased for $15 each. All registered motorcycle ride participants will receive one raffle ticket and may purchase more for the chance to win a variety of prizes.
The ride will leave SSEMC headquarters at 10:30 a.m. and riders will travel about 60 miles throughout the EMC's service territory and end at Glynn Haven Baptist Church in McDonough where the car show will be in full swing.
Registration for the car show will begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon at the church, which is located at 345 East Lake Road. The registration fee for the car show is $20. The car show will end around 2 p.m.
