Trinket shopping Annie Smith looks over the jewelry Monday at Newton Medical Center Auxiliary's semiannual, two-day Masquerade $5 Jewelry Sale held in the hospital's main lobby of NMC. Smith was raised in Covington and now lives in Decatur, but she said she wouldn't miss the two yearly jewelry sales where she purchases a lot of Christmas gifts. She had three baskets full of items, two of which she said she had collected for friends who depend on her to shop for them. Organizers report the first day of the sale "has been a great day," and are looking forward to Tuesday when doors will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Staff Photo by Sue Ann Kuhn-Smith
