Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. These twin female kitties are named Sassy and Samantha. Guess which one is which? They are Siamese-mix and only 8 weeks old. They can be adopted singly, but would make a beautiful pair if someone wanted to adopt both. They are up-to-date on their shots and are looking for a good home. They can be rescued and adopted at Rockdale County Animal Care and Control Shelter at 1506 Rockbridge Road in Conyers. At the Rockdale shelter adoption fees for dogs are $30 and $20 for cats. Spaying or neutering is required for adoption. The shelter is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-278-8403.

Questions to ask before adopting a pet:

-- Can I make a long-term commitment to this pet?

-- Will I be able to spend enough time with a new pet?

-- Am I prepared for the cost a new pet will bring?

-- Which pet is right for my home and my family?
