Newton County Sheriff Ezell Brown and the Newton County Sheriff’s Office were lauded recently in a special ceremony which celebrated the department achieving state accreditation in July of this year from the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police. Representatives from local, state and federal government and law enforcement agencies were on hand at the Newton County Judicial Center for the event and a plaque commemorating the first accreditation of the NCSO was presented to Brown by DeKalb County Sheriff Thomas Brown. Congratulating Brown, in center, are (l-r) J.
