Oxford resident Jimmy Harwell rakes his leaves the old-fashioned way, with plenty of elbow grease. Despite having just celebrated his 83rd birthday on Thanksgiving, he's already gotten his rake after the leaves in his yard five or six times this year. He said he really only has two hardwood trees in his yard, but he gets lots of his neighbor's leaves. "Seems like there's more leaves and more acorns this year," he observed, so everybody should be prepared for more yardwork. - Staff photo by Sue Ann Kuhn-Smith
