Piedmont Academy's kindergarten class recently made colorful turkey hats to wear to lunch for their traditional Thanksgiving meal. The class has been preparing and celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday season by learning new poems, songs and reading stories about Thanksgiving. The students have made thumb print turkeys, scarecrows, fall owls, fall trees and crows. Also, they have been busy writing in their November journals about the many things they are thankful for. The class is taught by Julie Tucker and Renee Tillman. Pictured, from left, are (top row) Mark Myles, Knowlen Jones, Jake Pope and Hudson Reed; (bottom row) Greta Wilkes, Brooklyn Rosser and Olivia Matthews. Not pictured is Natalie Sanders.
