Students study Civil War figures

Piedmont Academy's fifth-grade class recently studied the Civil War and the important people involved during this era of history. Each student selected a different person during this time and researched the individual. Along with a one-page biography, they created a paper doll out of poster board and dressed it to match how the person from the Civil War Era would have looked. Some of the important people that were researched by the students include Abraham Lincoln, Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant, Clara Barton, Harriet Tubman and Dred Scott.
