Police ID man shot while stabbing his mother

A man who was reportedly stabbing his mother was shot by an officer with the Conyers Police Department.

Rockdale falls at Langston Hughes

The underdog Rockdale football team trailed just 9-3 at halftime of its game with Langston Hughes Friday. But in the second half, the region champion Panthers pulled way, cruising to a 37-3 victory in the first round of the Class AAAAAA state playoffs.

Heritage bounced from state playoffs

ACWORTH - The Heritage football team came up a little short Friday in Acworth. Jeremy Uzee’s touchdown run late in the third gave Allatoona the lead and Harrison Kulp’s potential tying field goal from 40 yards was wide left as the host Buccanneers held on for a 24-21 victory in the first round of the Class AAAAA state playoffs.

Rockdale wins swim meet

In its first meet of the season, the Rockdale swim team finished two places behind Whitewater. Thursday, the Bulldogs got a little revenge. Rockdale had five first-place finishes in a 384-351 win over the Fayette County school in a quad meet at Johnson Park.
