'Don't Bully Me' event offered Sunday

CONYERS -- East metro families are invited to an anti-bullying event this weekend.

Announce All Occasions and the Just 1 Foundation is presenting the "Don't Bully Me" campaign from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at R.Y.S.A., which is located at 1780 Old Salem Road in Conyers.

"It's for the community. It's a family event," said event coordinator Chante Johnson. "We're hoping to bring awareness to parents who have children being bullied or who is a bully."

The free event will feature live music and a DJ, raffles, food vendors, games, a moon bounce, face painting and other family activities.

Bo the Anti-Bullying Officer also will make a special appearance to meet and take pictures with the kids. He aims to stomp out bullying and seeks to empower, inspire and education parents and their children about bullying.

It also will include resources about bullying and a panel discussion, which will include a pastor, a psychologist and a karate instructor, who will focus on self defense. Topics of discussion include building self-esteem, respecting yourself and others, steps to take and warning signs.

"There's a very important need, not only in our community but throughout the world," Johnson said. "It will be very informative."

If you can afford it, don't send your children to public schools in the first place. It's a factory for bullies and other losers. If you cant' afford an alternative, pray, pray, pray...
