The Newton County Relay for Life annual Miss Sweetheart Relay Pageant on October 21 brought more support for the Relay. Money raised by this pageant benefits the American Cancer Society's Newton County Relay for Life 2013. The pageant raised $3,147 for the charity. Winners will participate in the Covington Christmas Parade, the Newton County Relay 2013 and many yet to be confirmed public appearances. The winners are: Baby Miss - Shayla White; Toddler Miss - Lexi McQueen; Wee Miss - Zoe Marks; Little Miss - Havin Baker; Young Miss - Kelsey Ellis; Pre-Teen Miss - Alexis Chitwood; Teen Miss - Ireland Moore; Junior Miss - Alex Turcotte; Miss - Victoria Pittman; Miss Spirit -Gina Sewell, raised $325; Ambassador - Sydney Duren, raised 326.
