The Veterans War Memorial is designed to honor veterans from the six major wars -- WWI, WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War and the War in Iraq -- and to educate the public about the hardships connected with the wars. The Veterans War Memorial, located at 3001 Black Shoals Road, will be open to the public today until 7 p.m. and volunteers will be on hand to provide information about the memorial.
