COVINGTON -- A 25-year-old Loganville man has been arrested in connection with the death of Newton County resident Travin Montez Davis, according to published reports.
Artenimus Rayshun "Ray" Mack faces murder charges in connection with the slaying of Davis, whose body was found in a residential area in Baldwin County around daylight Wednesday morning.
According to reports, Baldwin County authorities say they now believe the shooting death was the result of a drug deal gone bad and that the murder took place inside a gold Mercury Sable not far from the area where Davis was found.
Mack was initially arrested on unrelated charges and questioned about the Davis murder as a "person of interest," according to Capt. Brad King of the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office.
Davis was last seen alive in Covington Tuesday evening as a passenger in the gold Mercury Sable.
