Dylan Anderson from Richmond County is flying high after being launched off a mat dubbed "The Blob" at the FFA-FCCLA Center in Newton Wednesday morning. Anderson was launched by another camper who jumped from a tower onto the blob, sending him soaring. The tower was built by FFA staff and the blob mat was purchased by FFA through fees paid by campers. More than 2,700 students are expected to attend camp over the next five weeks, including students from Newton and Rockdale FFA chapters. Usually, kids get about 10 feet in the air, but some staff members have gone as high as 20 feet, said Camp Manager Russell Towns, who said he "did it and loved it."
