This sweet little guy is a terrier-mix named Harry. He'll be about 15 pounds of pure spunk as an adult, but he's only 6 months old now and ready to be trained. He's been vaccinated and wormed and can be rescued and adopted at Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. This beautiful Jack Russell terrier-mix is named Jackie, but maybe she should be called Snow White as she's certainly the fairest of them all. Whatever name her new family chooses, she'll be sure to answer because she'll be so grateful for a permanent home. She has a lot of energy and personality and is about 1 year old. She's in desperate need of a home as the folks at the shelter say she is nearing the limit of the time she can stay there. She can be rescued and adopted at Rockdale County Animal Care and Control Shelter at 1506 Rockbridge Road in Conyers. At the Rockdale shelter adoption fees for dogs are $30 and $20 for cats. Spaying or neutering is required for adoption. The shelter is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
