Hundreds of graduates from Alcovy, Eastside and Newton high schools participated in practices earlier this week for graduation ceremonies this weekend. After several years of holding commencement exercises in school gyms and Church in the Now in Conyers, the Newton County School System is holding ceremonies at Homer Sharp Stadium this year. Newton High School will hold graduation ceremonies at 7 p.m. Saturday at the stadium, Eastside's is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday and Alcovy's is 9 a.m. Saturday.
