CONYERS -- Kree Clark capped a stellar senior year last Thursday. Clark, who won the Class AAAA state championship in the discus throw (140-10) and was fourth in the shot put at 39-10.75, signed a track and field scholarship with Jacksonville University. Clark also was the top rebounder on the Rockdale girls basketball team and helped the 2009-2010 team reach the state playoffs.
"Kree Clark is a rare student-athlete that you probably only get a chance to coach only once or twice in your lifetime," Rockdale coach DeMarquis Terry said. "Her toughness in athletics combined with hard work in the classroom has set an excellent example for our younger girls."
Terry said Clark's move to the Jacksonville, Fla., school, which has won seven consecutive indoor and outdoor Atlantic Sun Conference track and field championships, should be seamless.
"Jacksonville University is a great place for Kree to attend academically and athletically," Terry said. "They have won the last seven indoor and outdoor championships in their division and have a great ratio for graduation."
