COVINGTON -- The Newton County Sheriff's Office has issued a statewide Mattie's Call for a missing 72-year-old man by the name of Jack McCarty.
"The elderly male has symptoms of the early onset of Parkinson's disease and has diabetes," First Lt. Mark Mitchell said. "A personal caregiver reported the man walked away from a residence they were visiting about 6:30 Thursday evening and he hasn't been seen or heard from since."McCarty was last seen wearing a brown T-shirt, blue jeans, brown house slippers and walking with a cane. He is described as a white man, 6 feet, 1 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with short gray hair and a large forehead.
At the time of this press release Mr. McCarty is due for his medication for his diabetic condition," Mitchell said about 12:30 a.m. Friday.
