ALBANY — Rockdale's Kree Clark won the state title in the discus throw Friday at the Class AAAA state track and field meet at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany. Clark, a senior, threw 140-10, outlasting Jones County's Shermaine Pinkard (138-00). Clark also finished fourth in the shot put (39-10.75), while teammate Rachel Cuffy followed a Region 8-AAAA championship in the long jump with a fourth-place state finish (17-11).
During Saturday's finals, Cuffy finished third in the 200 meters (24.68) and fourth in the 100 meters (12.01); Heritage's Alayna Famble, who recently signed with Rutgers University, was third in the 400 meters (56.65); and the Rockdale 400 relay team ran in 47.99 and placed third.
