4Sarah plans golf tourney at Cherokee Run

COVINGTON -- 4Sarah is set to host its first golf tournament at Cherokee Run Golf Club in Conyers on April 27. The theme will be "Stop Sex Trafficking" and is designed not only as a fundraiser, but also to raise awareness and educate men on how to stop the demand for adult entertainment.

Sex trafficking is defined as the "recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act."

4Sarah Inc. is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping girls and women who wish to leave the adult entertainment industry. According to the organization's website, 4Sarah seeks to "empower change in the life direction of women and girls who are adult entertainers, prostitutes, escorts or victims of sexual exploitation by offering a holistic approach as well as an educational, emotional, physical and spiritual support system."

4Sarah offers a number of resources for women leaving the industry, including church placement, prayer, life coaching, transitional housing assistance, job placement, continuing education guidance, STD/HIV resources, suicide intervention, addiction and domestic violence resources.

Kasey McClure, the founder of 4Sarah, states that Backpage and several thousand other online erotic websites provide young girls the opportunity to sell their bodies online for profit. This increases their chance to be sexually exploited, raped or even murdered.

Awareness of sex trafficking is increasing, and 4Sarah's efforts have caught the attention of several media outlets, including CBS Atlanta, and Lucky Dog Films, which will be spotlighting 4Sarah in an upcoming documentary for MSNBC.

The tournament is open to all golfers and registration is now open at www.4Sarah.net under upcoming events. Fees, which include lunch, are $85 each or $340 per foursome.

Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

Sponsors are needed as follows: $1,000 Birdie Sponsor; $500 Par Sponsor; $250 Lunch Sponsor; $125 Hole Sponsor; and prizes or service donations to be given away during the event.

"With the support from our communities and churches, women and girls will be inspired to leave the adult entertainment industry and prostitution to become well-trained professional women within the community," McClure said.
