Porterdale Public Works Department employees are busy getting the ground ready for installation of playground equipment at three "pocket parks" under development in the city. An initiative of Mayor Arline Chapman, the parks will be located on city-owned property, and each will have different types of playground equipment. This one on Pine Street is slated to have a six-seat swing set, a Geo Climber and winder motorcycles. The parks are funded through 2011 special purpose local option sales tax collections that are earmarked for recreation.
