Couple awakes to find armed man in their bedroom

CONYERS -- A couple was awakened in the early morning hours Wednesday to find an armed man standing over their bed, demanding money.

The 30-year-old male victim told the Conyers Police Department that his wife awakened him at about 5:30 a.m. saying that she had heard a noise inside their Arbor Creek apartment home on South Main Street. Moments later, the victim said a large black man armed with a semi-automatic handgun entered their bedroom.

The victim said the man demanded money, but the victim said he didn't have any money at the residence, according to the incident report.

The suspect reportedly opened a couple of drawers in the bedroom and looked through them before heading to the living room. When he left the room, the victim called police.

The suspect reportedly grabbed an Acer laptop in the living room before leaving through the front door.

The suspect was described as 5 feet, 11 inches to 6 feet tall, heavy set weighing about 300 pounds, and wearing gray shorts, a black sleeveless shirt and white tennis shoes. The suspect had a white T-shirt or similar item wrapped around his face so that only his eyes showed.

The suspect apparently got into the apartment by breaking the kitchen window, raising the window and climbing in.
