COVINGTON -- Alcovy's Gabby Sherwood is hoping to make her college career with the West Georgia Technical College as successful as her career with the Lady Tigers after recently signing with the Golden Knights.
The Lady Tigers guard averaged eight points and two assists per game during her senior year.
"Gabby is an outstanding guard with a great knack and understanding of the game. She brings all the intangibles to the game as she is constantly striving to become a great player," said Alcovy girls head coach Kidada Holtzclaw.
As a four-year starter wearing the black and gold, Sherwood helped lead the Lady Tigers to an overall record of 76-42 including a trip to the Final Four last season and two trips to the second round of the Class AAAA playoffs.
"Gabby played a pivotal part in a winning program a (Alcovy). As a four-year starter, Sherwood's defense and hustle plays let the Lady Tigers to two straight undefeated regular season region titles," Holtzclaw said. "We are all very excited for and proud of Gabby's accomplishments. With continued hard work, she has a great future ahead of her."
