Newton Citizen
This little piggy apparently went to market and got lost along the way. He's ready for a new home, but you won't need a collar and a leash. This female porker is named Rose and she has a lovely pink complexion and snow white hair. Bids are being accepted for her at Newton County Animal Control from now until noon on July 27. Newton County Animal Shelter is located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. Anyone who has lost a pet is urged to go to the center and bring a photo of the missing animal.
