CONYERS -- Snapping Shoals EMC will host its annual meeting on Thursday, July 26, at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers.
Registration and the election of members to the board of directors begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 11:15 a.m. The business portion of the meeting gets under way at 11:30 a.m. under the Charles C. Walker Arena at the horsepark. There will be no formal luncheon this year.
Drawings for prizes will take place after the business session ends. Entertainment and children's games will last throughout the day.
The grand prize this year is a 2003 Ford-250 truck that is being retired from the Snapping Shoals fleet, said spokeswoman Leigh-Anne Burgess. Other prizes will include a flat-screen TV, DVD player and microwave oven.
Only registered SSEMC members will be allowed to vote and win prizes.
Burgess said last year a total of 1,524 registered members attended the event. That number does not include members' extended families and guests, and Snapping Shoals estimates total attendance was more than 3,000.
"As always our Annual Meeting will be full of useful energy information and fun for the whole family," Burgess said.
The event is free and includes giveaways of the always popular yellow plastic buckets emblazoned with the Snapping Shoals logo and filled with goodies.
