A local girl's basketball team has had quite a summer. The Triple Threat All Stars, a group of fifth and sixth-grade girls, qualified for the YBOA National Tournament in Kissimmee, Florida last weekend.
The girls, who reside in Rockdale, Newton and Walton counties, are led by Tim Cotton, the coach of the sixth-grade team, and fifth-grade coach Shaun Wells.
The Triple Threat All-stars Girls Basketball Association was formed in 2010 and developed based upon the need to provide professional and personal growth to female student athletes looking for a more competitive and instructional environment in travel basketball. Led by Cotton, who is also the program's director, Triple Threat aims to develop young girls and young ladies as student-athletes of good character, sportsmanship, and academic prowess.
