New London holds safe driving fair

New London School of Driving of Snellville presents "Safe Driving 4 Teens Safety Fair" on July 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at George Walton Academy, 1 Bulldog Drive, in Monroe.

The fair is designed to share Information to keep young drivers safe; reduce risky behaviors to enhance safety on our roads; show the consequences of bad choices; and encourage teens to make safe choices.

The fair features representatives from the Georgia Department of Driver Services, Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety, University of Georgia's Georgia Traffic Injury Prevention Institute, Publix's No Zone Safety Truck and Air Life helicopter. The City of Monroe Police and Fire Departments along with the Walton County Fire Department will be reenacting an accident, and the Walton County Sheriff's Department will be running an alcohol awareness driving course.

Others participating include the Teen Victim Impact Program, Operation Lifesaver (a railroad safety program), Phyllis Mitchell State Farm Insurance, and Loganville Ford.

The event is free and open to all parents and teens.
