I recall an old story about a wolf in sheep's clothing. The folks attacking Snapping Shoals EMC put on a smiling face and act like they care about us; but, the more I look into the radical environmental organizations that are behind the anti-coal efforts the more fishy things smell.
Snapping Shoals has a long history of good management; as proof I'll offer the fact our electrical rates are some of the lowest in Georgia. It makes me mad when folks tell lies about my co-op. They say they want to save me money, but they don't care about our rates. They only care about their anti-coal, anti-gas, anti-oil, anti-nuclear hysteria. They are for hydro power, but against dams. They are for wind power but not if the windmill hits a bird.
I trust our board; I like low power rates; I like air conditioning and refrigeration and having no blackouts. And, I'm going to the annual meeting on July 26 at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers and vote to keep my fellow co-op members Gene Morris, Anthony Norton and Walter Johnson representing me. Voting is from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. This is really important and I sure do hope to see you there.
