Conyers The next high school baseball season may still be seven months away, but a pair of Salem players are still making headlines. Rising senior Zach Bailey was selected to the Georgia Dugout Club Top 100, while rising sophomore Jordan Scott was selected to the Under Armour Top 100 Underclassmen Showcase.
Bailey, who will go into the 2013 season as one of the top players in Region 8-AAAA, played in the Dugout Club showcase last week in front of nearly 100 scouts.
“We are extremely proud of Zach for being selected as one of the best 100 players in the state of Georgia,” said Salem coach Chad Kitchens. “Zach has really blossomed into a fine young man, and he has a bright future ahead of him in baseball. We are thankful that we have him for one more season. Next year will be a big year for him."
Scott, who was an infielder and outfielder in his first varsity campaign for the 2012 Seminoles, is expected to take on an even larger role as a sophomore.
"We are also very proud of Jordan for his selection. It is always an honor to be selected for these type of events because they highlight the best players around,” said Kitchens. “Jordan had a very solid freshman season making an immediate impact for Salem. As hard as he works, he will become a great player before his career is complete at Salem."
