ATLANTA -- Former Salem High School baseball player Jake Dyer, is getting ready for his senior season on the college diamond at Georgia State.
Dyer, a 6-1 right-handed pitcher, was excellent in 2011 in his first season with the Panthers after transferring from Georgia Perimeter College.
As a junior, Dyer went 3-0 with a 1.67 ERA and saved eight games, tied for second-most in Georgia State history. He also allowed just 33 hits and walked seven in 32 1/3 innings pitched in helping the Panthers win 37 games.
Georgia State opens its season at home against Western Illinois on February 17.
