COVINGTON The Covington Family YMCA is hosting an open house from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 21. The community is invited to tour the facility, exercise on equipment and participate in a group exercise class.
Classes offered include Zumba, BodyPump, step, cycling, pilates and yoga. The YMCA will also be holding drawings for three-month memberships and will be offering guest passes to all who come by. Visit cvy.ymcaatlanta.org or call 770-787-3908 for more information or a schedule of the group exercise classes for the day.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, only 15 to 20 percent of people stay with their exercise program long enough to see any health benefits. The YMCA's THE COACH APPROACH offered at the Covington Family YMCA teaches exercisers how to stick with their health and wellness programs. The program is designed to give everyone the opportunity to increase their physical activity and reduce health risks. Regular exercise will reduce fatigue and sleep irregularities and will increase energy levels as well as help lower stress levels. It also enhances overall feelings of well-being and keeps you more focused and attentive.
The Y is a powerful association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. Every day, the Y works side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and connect.
