Brooks Conrad, who became a free agent when the Braves didn't tender him a major league contract, signed a minor league deal with the Brewers that includes an invitation to spring training.
Conrad, who turns 31 next Monday, spent all of the past two seasons with the Braves after splitting time between Class AAA Gwinnett and Atlanta in 2009. The infielder had eight homers and 33 RBIs in 2010 before slipping to four homers and 13 RBIs last year while batting .223.
Conrad hit a walk-off pinch-hit grand slam against the Reds in 2010, but also made three errors in a playoff loss to the Giants that season while filling in at second base.
