Mrs. Mildred “Millie” Thomas, age 67, of Monticello passed away February 27, 2012. She was born April 21, 1944 in Ware Shoals, South Carolina to the late Robert S. and Opal Griffith Pitt. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Red Oak United Methodist where she was an active member of the UWM ladies group and the recycled teens. She enjoyed water aerobics, gardening, and loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband Mr. Irvin Thomas, her son Ralph Thomas, Jr. of South Carolina, her daughter and son-in-law Jana and Danny Arp of Covington, her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Emily Pitt of Laurens, SC and her grandchildren Trey Thomas, Blakely and Ally Arp. Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas will be held at 2 O’clock, Thursday, March 1, 2012 with Reverend Miguel Valez-Andujar officiating. The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home from 6 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. 15 months ago, Mrs. Thomas received a liver and kidney transplant at Piedmont Hospital, in lieu of flowers those desiring may make a donation to Life Link 2875 Northwoods Parkway, Norcross, GA 30071 in honor of and thanking them for the gift Mrs. Thomas received.
