Mr. Edward “Ed” McGehee, age 53, of Buford, GA passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 25, 2012. He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Pam Streetman McGehee, Buford, GA; son, Evan McGehee, Buford, GA; parents, Ed and Billie McGehee, Conyers, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Sharron and Robert Moseley, Jonesboro, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Richard Hubbell, Johns Creek, GA; two nephews, Chris and Anna Hubbell, Suwanee, GA and Matthew Hubbell, Johns Creek, GA; great niece, Jordan Hubbell; great nephew, Carter Hubbell; and his beloved pets, Maggie, Freddie and Augie. Mr. McGehee was born September 1, 1958 in Cocoa Beach, FL. He was a 1977 graduate of Rockdale County High School in Conyers, GA and attended Clayton Junior College. During his time in the Navy, Ed served with the helicopter search and rescue team. He later served in law enforcement first, with the City of Conyers Police Department and later with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. For the last 25 years, Ed has been employed in the elevator industry with Van Deusen & Associates where he was highly respected. Ed was a long time member of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, GA where God and his family were the center of his life. We were all blessed to have him in our lives – even though the time was too short. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. David Baker officiating. There will be no graveside service but a private interment will be at Sugar Hill Cemetery.
