Special photo The Past Exalted Rulers of the Covington Elks Lodge recently hosted a breakfast for the first responders in Newton County. Some of those attending were the Sheriff Ezell Brown and his deputies, Chief of Police Stacey Cotton and Covington Police officers, State Patrol troopers, Newton County and City of Covington firefighters, EMTsS, Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Ranger Buddy Mills and other staff. The Past Exalted Ruler's thanked the first responders for all of their efforts to help make Newton County a safe place to live, work and raise a family.
