GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- Gainesville's city council is considering a lease agreement that would allow Brenau University to operate the Georgia Mountains Center for the next decade.
University officials say they hope to use the convention center for graduate-level health studies programs, such as physical education. Brenau officials say they would continue to allow the public to use theater and convention center space for community events.
The city council is expected to vote Tuesday on a lease agreement that would have Brenau running the facility for the next 10 years.
