Though the Rockdale and Heritage swim teams didn't have any top-16 finishes to secure team points at last weekend's Class A-AAAA State Meet at Georgia Tech, several swimmers had solid times in the preliminaries.
For Rockdale, the 400 freestyle relay team of Amir Munajj, Davis Foster, Matthew Bennett and Adam Scaffe swam in 3:38.23, the 32nd-fastest preliminary time in the event and five seconds better than the quartet's previous fastest swim. The Bulldogs also got a 32nd-place finish from the foursome in the 200-freestyle relay (1:36.54) and Munajj was 25th in the 50-freestyle (22.60).
Heritage had a pair of top-40 preliminary times in the relay events. The 400-freestyle relay team of Kate McCalley, Erin White, Betsy Potter and Arielle Gunderson had the 32nd-fastest time in the 400-freestyle relay (4:08.66), while Potter, McCalley, Gunderson and Kenzie Webb finished 37th in the 200-freestyle relay (1:51.71).
