COVINGTON - The Georgia Department of Transportation is asking motorists to be cautious in the coming days as roadwork will be underway on several projects.
On Tuesday, roadway drainage inspections will take place on I-20, and on Wednesday and Thursday, the edges of Ga. Highway 36 will be repaired. Both projects will take place between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
A single lane closure and a flagman may be utilized for the work.
Also, at 10 a.m. on Monday, a traffic signal on Salem Road at the new Walmart will be activated in flash mode. The signal will flash yellow for motorists traveling on Salem Road and red for motorists leaving Walmart.
The signal will become fully operational at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23.
Motorists are advised to lower their speed and use extreme caution when traveling on these roadways.
