ATLANTA (AP) -- A 20-year-old Atlanta man who police say was beaten by a group of men in an attack caught on video says he feared for his life and hopes the attackers are arrested soon.
Federal authorities say they are investigating the attack, which happened earlier this month, as a possible hate crime.
Brandon White told reporters Wednesday that he did not know the attackers, calling them "monsters."
The video shows three unidentified men who pounce on White as he walks out of a neighborhood grocery store. They punch and kick him while gay slurs are heard. At one point, an attacker used a tire to beat White.
White, who has not been back to the neighborhood, said he's still struggling emotionally following the attack.
