CONYERS -- A 29-year-old man is in the Rockdale County Jail following his arrest on charges that he burglarized his friend's home.
Bobby Chad Evans, of 746 Robin Drive, was arrested Feb. 2 in connection with the September burglary of a home on Bluebird Drive. According to Rockdale County Sheriff's Office Investigator Michael Camp, Evans' name was given to authorities by the victim at the time of the burglary as the only person who would know where certain stolen items were kept in the house. Evans was also later picked out of a photo lineup by a witness who had seen him at the victim's property at about the time of the burglary. Camp said that Evans had frequented the victim's residence as a friend.
According to the incident report, the victim went to a party on Sept. 10 and when he returned home he found that numerous electronics and other items had been stolen from his home. Stolen items included a 50-inch 3D television, Playstation 3, Super Nintendo, two pairs of 3D glasses, Direct TV Tivo, Direct TV receiver, a guitar and case, 30 Playstation games, 15 Nintendo games, 80 DVDs, a 3D Blue Ray player and a digital camera.
Total value of the stolen items was estimated at more than $13,000.
