Mrs. Lula Mae Summerour Sims passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Othel Sims and son, Phillip Lawrence Sims. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Gail Spencer and grandchildren, Danielle Marie Sims and Phillip Maurice Sims. Mrs. Sims was a life-time resident of Georgia and resided in Conyers for over 30 years. She lived through difficult times during the Great Depression and World War II but those experiences helped make her a strong and resilient person. Her longevity can be attributed to her great sense of humor and a positive outlook on life. She was a loving, kind and patient person who will be missed greatly. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Prospect United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Compton officiating; interment will be at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, Atlanta, GA. Visitation will be Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
