Sharing the joy of Jesus' birth
As we approach the apex of the holiday season, the observance of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Baha'is of Newton and Rockdale counties would like to share our goodwill and love on this sacred occasion. The Baha'i faith is not well known in this area, and we would like to take this opportunity to let our Christian brothers and sisters know that we share their joy at the birth of Jesus, of whom the Baha'i sacred writings say the following:
" ... when He (Jesus) came into the world, He shed the splendor of His glory upon all created things. Through Him the leper recovered from the leprosy of perversity and ignorance. Through Him, the unchaste and wayward were healed. Through His power, born of Almighty God, the eyes of the blind were opened, and the soul of the sinner sanctified."
We want your readers to know what a sublimely joyful occasion we think Jesus' birth is for all of humankind. We look forward to working together in 2013 to bring more understanding and cooperation among all religions.
We wish all a very happy Christmas.-- Linda Leeb Duper
