ATHENS -- Terry Salter had a game-winning layup in Salem's 59-58 overtime win against Clarke Central on Tuesday.
The Seminoles, who improved to 4-1 in Region 8-AAAAA, trailed heading into the fourth quarter but held the host Gladiators to three points in the final eight minutes.
Post player Marques Mckoy led Salem with 20 points.
"We wanted to work the ball inside and we were able to do that," said Salem coach Noah Harrell.
A rough fourth quarter doomed the Salem's girls in a 61-54 loss in the opener. The Seminoles led by four at halftime and 43-40 after three, but were out-scored 21-11 in the final period to drop their second consecutive game in Athens.
Salem also fell to Cedar Shoals last weekend, 44-33 and overall are 2-3 in Region 8-AAAAA.
Against Clarke, Nikkira Brown had 15 points and Shay Tarver, 13.
