This noble little tri-color terrier-mix couldn't be any cuter if he tried. He's been named Gruff, but here's betting he just pretends to be be be "gruff" and is a real sweetheart. He's approximately 10 months old and will weigh between 15 and 20 pounds when fully grown. He'd be a great addition to any family. He can be rescued and adopted at Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. This snow white kitty with the green eyes has been named Snow Drop and she'd love to drop in on a new home before the first snowfall comes to town this season. A domestic short hair, she was put in a box and dumped at a stranger's home. She's believed to be between 2 and 3 years old and has been spayed, declawed and is up-to-date on her shots. She's a very sweet kitty, but is a little shy after her ordeal. Given a little time, she's sure to become a great addition to any household. Snowdrop can be rescued and adopted at Rockdale County Animal Care and Control Shelter at 1506 Rockbridge Road in Conyers. At the Rockdale shelter adoption fees for dogs are $30 and $20 for cats. Out-of-county residents pay slightly more. Spaying or neutering is required for adoption. The shelter is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
