Newton Citizen
The voters have spoken, as a law-abiding citizen who believes in liberty and the rule of law, I must honor the decisions the voters have made.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tax Commissioner Dan Ray for his 19 years of service, Chief Magistrate Judge Rudy Horne for his 25 years of service, Probate Judge Lillis Brown for her 31 years of service, and Sheriff Jeff Wigington for his 35 years of service to our community. Each has tirelessly served the community with dedication and honor.
I came to Rockdale County 10 years ago because of the sense of safety, security, community, and the conservative small town charm I felt when exploring the area. With their tenure in community service, I feel confident the aforementioned public servants played a major role in forming the community that I was attracted to 10 years ago.
I am honored and humbled for knowing each one of them, and I wish them the best in their future endeavors.
Also, I would be remiss in my gratitude if I didn't recognize the spouses of each of these fine people. Over the years, the spouses have endured a lot and given more to the community than we'll ever know. I would like to thank them for their service to our community as well.
May God be with you.
