COVINGTON -- Those who weren't able to attend Salem Camp Meeting last month still have a chance to view a portion of the event.

Two sermons from camp meeting will air on Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters Inc.'s web site at www.aibnet.tv beginning Sunday and running through Saturday, Aug. 18. Sermons by guest preachers Dr. Winston O.R. Worrell, director of the World Methodist Evangelism Institute and Dr. John A. Huffman Jr., retired from the Los Ranchos Presbytery, will be aired in rotation during the time slot of 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The sermons were preached on Monday, July 9, and Tuesday, July 10, under the historic Salem Tabernacle.

The broadcast will also include the featured choirs from those nights, as well as snippets of interviews with worshipers.

"It's a real good program, a high-quality program," said Sam Ramsey, chairman of the Board of Trustees at Salem. Ramsey said the program would be ideal for men and women in the military stationed overseas to watch and others who couldn't make it out to camp meeting.

Ramsey estimated that abut 8,000 people attended the eight-day event, which took place July 6-13 and marked the 184th anniversary of camp meeting.

Founded in 1828, Salem Camp Meeting is one of the oldest in the nation. The tabernacle at Salem is on the National Building Survey of the Library of Congress as one of America's historic buildings and the entire campground was put on the National Historic Register in 1998. The experience at Salem has been captured by articles in Smithsonian and Time magazines. The campground is located at 3940 Salem Road between Covington and Conyers.
